1. Where is Boquete Country Club located? Boquete Country Club is located in Palmira in the province of Chiriquí, District of Boquete at a distance of 3.5 kilometers (a five minute drive) to and from Downtown Boquete, and approximately 23 kilometers (a 30 minute drive) to and from the City of David. Boquete Country Club is strategically located in the Road to Palmira which is the road that, following recent Panamanian Government approval, will be the road that will connect the highland areas of Boquete to Volcan and Cerro Punta.
2. What are the pre-requisites to buy a property at Boquete Country Club? To purchase a property at Boquete Country Club there are no real pre-requisites. To reserve your property of choice a minimum of $5,000.00 deposit is requested unless otherwise instructed. Different payment structures and financing is available from the developer. 3. What is the area of the home sites available at Boquete Country Club? Home sites at Boquete Country Club range in areas from 10,760.00 sq. ft. (1,000 m2) to 21,520 sq. ft. (2,000 m2). We provide our customers with the flexibility of designing the home of their dreams to be built in the acquired home site. All designs must be approved by an Architectural Review Board as well as comply with several design criteria, among which a tile roof is required.
4. What is the construction area of the condominium apartments at Boquete Country Club? Currently Boquete Country Club offers condominium apartments in the Mountain View Condominium Buildings A and B with areas ranging from 1,661.24 sq. ft. (154.39 m2) to 2,232.81 sq. ft. (207.51 m2). Also available are the condominium apartments in the Blue Sky Condominium Buildings A and D with areas ranging from 1,797.56 sq. ft. (167.06m2) to 2,142.53 sq. ft. (199.12m2).
5. What is the construction area of the custom homes at Boquete Country Club? Boquete Country Club offers four home models: 1). The Mountain View Town Houses/Villas which is a 3 bedroom/3.5 bathroom two story high one-family residential home with a total construction area 2,668.26 sq.ft (247.98 m2). These homes are already built and ready for immediate occupation. 2). The Casa Córdoba is a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom Spanish style home with an interior open courtyard. 3). The Casa Mercato is 3 bedroom/2.5 bathroom residence designed by The sater Design Collection. 4). The Casa Toledo is a 3 bedroom/3.5 bathroom residence designed for a demanding owner for great architectural design.
6. What is the time frame allowed to build a house at Boquete Country Club? For customer interested in purchasing a home site, Boquete Country Club provides a 24 month period for blueprint planning and for construction to initiate. An additional 14 month period is provided to complete the construction.
7. What is the cost of living in Boquete?
Living in Boquete is very affordable. Although water, electrical, TV, and telephone services will be available for Boquete Country Club residents, these expenses will be covered individually by each resident and will be according to the consumption or plans chosen. Electrical bills depend on the individual energy consumed, yet a comfortable use of energy may result in an expense of not more than $130.00 a month. Satellite TV service (Direct TV) and Cable TV can be acquired for around $45.00 a month, Internet service is available for as low as $12.95 a month and telephone service may also be available for as low as $12.95 a month.
8. What taxes will we have to pay? Currently property taxes in Panama will be applied to any property (land) having a registered value of over $30,000 (as is registered in the public deed registered at Panama´s Public Registry). Taxes will apply as follows: 1.75% of property value for property valued between $30,000 to $49,999; 1.95% of property value for property valued between $50,000 to $74,999; and 2.1% of property value for property valued $75,000 or more. There is an alternative tax calculation which states as follows under a 2005 ammendment to the law: 0.70% for any amount exceeding property values of $30,000 to $49,999; 0.90% for any amount of property values of $50,000 to $74,999; 1% of property values for amount exceeding $75,000. Alternative tax calculation is only available if the properties are up to date with payments and the owner has declared the correct value as corroborated by an appraiser. For improvements which construction permit was expedited from September 1st, 2006 will be exonerated for a period of years starting on the date of the registration of the improvements based on the following: Improvements for residential use valued up to $100K (15 years exoneration); valued from $100K to $250K (10 years exoneration); valued higher than $250K (5 years exoneration); Other improvements (10 years exoneration). The improvements which construction permit was issued before July 1, 2009 will have a 20 year tax exoneration as registration of the improvements in the Public Registry is done prior to December 31, 2011. There are no taxes on any income obtained outside Panama´s Territories. For goods and services purchased in Panama, a 5% tax applies except for food purchases at supermarkets or grocery stores. 9. What activities are available in Boquete and the highlands area? There are many activities available for all age groups in Boquete and the highlands areas. Some of the activities include hiking, bycicling, white water river rafting, horseback riding, strawberry picking, among others. Dining out is becoming a popular activity because of the wide variety of new restaurants.Talking a walk through town in the afternoon, gardening or assisting to the most famous flower fair is also a great way to enjoy life in Boquete.
10. What about the infrastructure at Boquete Country Club? Roads and underground utilities infrastructure at Boquete Country Club have been completed and approved by the Panamanian Ministry of Public Works. The utilities infrastructure are all underground. The completed infrastructure comprises 72% of all the roads contemplated in BCC´s Master Plan. All of the development´s key feature are located in the areas with infrastructure already completed. Hence, available residential properties are ready to be segregated and transferred to owner upon completion of full payment to the Developer.
11. What medical services are available in the highland area? Although there are several local doctors in the Boquete area, public and private healthcare is more readily available in the city of David (a 35 minute drive from Boquete). There are two private hospitals with excellent trained doctors of many different specialties. Medical attention is readily available; Appointments can be scheduled for the same day or the same week from the time a patient calls. Medications are available at several local drugstores in the town of Boquete. You may also find larger drugstores in David. Pensionados (Retirees); women over 55 years and men over 60 years receive up to a 15% discount when purchasing medicines.
12. Where can I stay while visiting Boquete? If you are looking for a place to stay while visiting Boquete, there are several lodging options available for you. Small bed and breakfast type hotels, starting as low as $45.00 a night, are most common in Boquete rather than large hotel chains.
